I have a green card (for 8yrs) and my boyfriend and I want to get married. He was sponsored by a record company for his H1 visa and he wants to apply for his green card next. If we get married will it effect his application or will he have restrictions through the marriage?

Hi I understand that we are not establishing a lawyer/client relationship however do you have any information that I could read up on maybe as I know nothing about this and I don't know anybody who has gone through this situation. Normally it would be a foreign national trying to get a green card by marrying an American however he has a H1 and he's starting to apply for a green card (I already have one). What happens if a H1 and a green card holder gets married. (If I ask what happens when blue is mixed with yellow - telling me green is not binding us in a lawyer/client relationship, I believe it's just stating a fact.

He will have far more restrictions on his H1 than via marriage. The fact that you marry will not have an impact on anything.
