A few months ago I married a US citizen and applied for a Green card (INS confirmed the receipt...it will take 365 to 540 days to process). Can I travel abroad for leisure before I receive the card? What do I need to do?

Thank you
Martin

You need to apply for Advance Parole.. INS form I-131. Do not leave the country without it or your petition for the green card will considered to be abandoned and you will not get back into the US.
