The UCS petitions for a K1 visa .. if a person enters the US on a visitors visa and then marries someone, they *can* be done for visa fraud.

Our lawyer advised us that the best route was for me to come to states with documetation of legal entry, then get married, then apply for an adjustment of status. This is what we have done and in less than one month I received my authorization to work.

Yes you can do this.. and it can work.. but you get the wrong area, the wrong INS office etc and you could be on the next boat home. Your attorney has basically advised you to commit visa fraud as you entered the US with the INTENTION of staying, thereby invalidating the entry conditions.
