What is the name of your state? Indiana
Company name MC Donald's

I have worked for MC Donald's for 2 years now and have had numerous issues with this company but none that I could prove until now. First of all, when I came in Friday night, the store manager was still in.. Well he comes out of his office says "hi" and so on then out of no where here starts punching me in my arm and chest... This is not the first time something like this has happened and I'm sure it wont be the last. In the past he has even gone as far as to pick other managers Up by their necks or shove them into shelves in the stock room when he gets mad. Now I don't know what was going on this day and why he did this but this kind of behavior is unacceptable and needs to be stopped. The district manager had been contacted before and nothing ever became of it. As a matter of fact I have been told by several people that when ever you call Corporate or this manager all they do is come in and erase the video footage of the incident. So as a means to prevent this from happening to me I made a copy of the video footage for that specific time.. Now for the question.. What can I do to stop this from happening. This company seems to be as corrupt as it gets and something has got to be done.. Maybe a Class Action Lawsuit would do the trick but I am open for other ideas.. Perhaps I can get him on a Battery charge or anything along those lines?

Now for the second portion of my question. I called in sick Sunday, for the day shift I was scheduled but came in later that night to do truck as I knew their would be no one else capable of doing the truck manifest/Telzon.. Well come to find out the store manager... Jerry took me off payroll for that day entirely even though I still worked that night. So now I will not be getting paid for actual hours worked for that day. I would assume that he has no grounds to be doing this but then again that is just my theory. I did try and talk to him about it but he just walks away or ignores me. I'm getting fairly frustrated now and just need to know if this is a legit action or is it illegal? And if it is illegal how I do I put a stop to this sort of behavior, because I know Im not the only one he has done this to and I have proof.....

Contact the department of labor and file a complaint for unpaid wages. And for GOD'S SAKE, quit! There are a billion jobs equivalent in skill and pay to McDs where you won't be assaulted on the job.

Yes there is indeed lots of jobs that are comparable to MCD's, however none that are near me. MCD is the closest place to where I live and I need to keep this job until I get my CDL and start my new job this August. Now, thank you very much for the advice I will contact the DOL. Now as far as my other question goes, I wish calling the police was a good option but it isnt. If I do, I surely will be fired and of course their is no severance pay or anything where I work plus this will not stop it from happening again to other employees who work their.. I guess I will just have to keep taking it until I get out.

Ummm...while I know McDonals's isn't the greatest place to work, I somehow suspect that corporate McDonald's doesn't condone physical assault on its employees by its managers. While your coworkers may have told you that "going to Corporate" doesn't do any good because your managers always erase the tape before Corporate gets there, this isn't a factor in your case...because you made a copy of the tape! I suggest you call Corporate and show them your tape.
