What is the name of your state? MN I am seeking general info as to what will be the best time in a interview to inform a prospective employer Of Heart damamge that requires on occaision taking nitro tablets . I understand failure to inform a employer of a medical problem like this could result in termination .

Genenrally, you don't tell them at the interview. The most they should ask is if you are able to perform the functions of the job. You let them know about your heart problems when you sign any insurance forms after you have been hired. You are under no obligation to inform the interviewer of your personal health issues, only your ability to do the job.

Unless you're applying for a particular position where that information would be essential (such as deep sea exploration or a professional athlete), no, you don't have to reveal this information, nor will the interviewer even ask if they know what they're doing. The only appropriate question for an interviewer to ask is whether you might need any accommodation to perform the job. That's it.

Any medication you're taking is completely irrelevant unless it would impair your ability to do the job - such as the need to take a medication that would make it unsafe for you to operate a forklift (for example) if that were part of the job duties.

It appears you are laboring under some misinformation.

The ONE thing that it is out and out illegal for employers to ask about is medical information. If you open the door by mentioning any medical conditions, disabilities or medication, they can legally go through the door and discuss it. But they cannot legally ask you anything except whether or not you are capable of doing the job as described.

There are other things, such as age, marital status, family situations (or family planning) and so on, that it is not technically illegal to ask the questions, but it is illegal to use the information in making the hiring decision. For that reason it is VERY unwise for the employer to ask the questions at all, since they would be hard put to prove that they didn't use the information to discriminate. But it is not technically illegal.
