What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? This happened in FL

Excerpt:
"According to Florida law, sperm donors do not have any parental rights. However, Begin stressed that this case was not affected by this law and does not affect the current Florida law, because there is an agreement between the two parties.

After the two-year legal battle, when Gerina was not permitted to see his daughter, Judge Antonio Marin signed off on an agreement reached on January 31, granting Gerina weekly visits with Emma for several hours, at the mothers’ residence or an otherwise agreed upon location. Emma’s birth certificate was issued with all three parents’ names on it.

“I am the father and I have visitation, but legally speaking they [Italiano and Filippazzo] are the parents, but that does not exclude me from Emma’s activities or major decisions,” Gerina says."

Sounds messy. And stupid.

This is not the first time this scenario has happened in FL. The same situation with another Lesbian couple and a male friend sperm donor had the same outcome about 10 years ago. However that case went eventually to the FL Supreme Court and they ruled that the bio-dad was indeed a sperm donor and had no rights. That case also involved twins. Based on that prior ruling, I am surprised that this case had this outcome.

I read an article that Elton John, and his partners child (via surrogacy) have the both of the males listed on the BC, Elton John as father, and his partner as the mother.

also read horror stories of sperm donors getting slammed with child support. Its not fair that you can only donate thru a clinic, some rules are going to have to be reviewed and updated.

Traditional families, while still the majority of families, are in decline.

Something needs to change to reflect other types of unions. Namely same sex couples, and single parents having children together be it by surrogacy or sperm donation.

Times are a-changin.

No joke. Still doesn't mean life is fair... That's just a silly thing to say, IMO.

lol. I find lots of stuff unfair.

I find the treatment of dads and dads to be across the board completely unfair.

But as you have so kindly pointed out, life is by definition, unfair. :(

Where did they put the third name anyway? 2 people as dad?
