Wisconsin is my state. I currently have no income because I have been waiting about 2 years now for my SSDI hearing. I have Secondary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. In, 2012 or 2013, my mortgage was discharged through bankruptcy and my mortgage company does not do reaffirmations in my state. My mortgage also has a "power of sale" clause and I wonder how this will affect me. I am running out of money to survive until my hearing (which will be anywhere between June-November). I'm not sure what the law is for me since in power of sale, mortgage holders do not have to go through the judicial system. How many months behind will I have to be before they decide to send me foreclosure notice? Are they required to notify me or just print it in the newspaper? How long after the notice will I legally have to live in my home before I become homeless? I've read that regular foreclosures can take a year, but because I have that power of sale clause...I'm worried I'll only be given a month. I reside in the home and I want to stay in my home because it is cheaper than most rents. Also, when I do receive a foreclosure notice...do I have to just pay the months I owe to stop it? Or would I be required to pay the entire balance? My home appraises less than what I bought it for and I have a 20k block grant lien on the house as well.
I just don't know where to turn for help....I'm trying to survive as long as I can. Once I have my hearing...if awarded...I will receive back payments...less my lawyers share.
Thank you for any information.
