I was hospitalized in boot camp (for 2 weeks) for a condition called "Poly-Rheumatic Arthritis". I just got my medical records and in a summary report on my hospital stay it says I had "...elevated glucose levels." This was in 1974. 6 years later, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and a blood glucose of 950. I walked in the hospital. This was 3 years after my discharge. I am amazed that the doctor in boot camp did not test me for diabetes then, as a high glucose reading would almost certainly be an indicator that requires further testing. Now, I am a very brittle (highly fluctuating blood sugars. Hard to manage)diabetic and I strongly believe if that doctor had of tested me in boot camp, it would have been found that I was diabetic then. I know the symptoms I had in my military career were diabetic, yet I didn't seek help. What are my options, I am very poor?

1974 was a very long time ago! I think it's safe to say that the statute of limitations has expired in your case, therefore you have no legal recourse.
