minor rear-end collision

What is the name of your state? TN

I was involved in a minor collision, it is the other drivers fault. He impacted my drivers side rear bumper going at the most 10mph while I was at a full stop. He was insured, so am I. A PO was called to the scene, and a report filled out. An ambulance was not dispatched to the scene.

I'm now receiving a ridiculous amount of calls from doctors. I set up an appointment because it was free and I figure why not. I have had some minor neck and upper back soreness in the past couple days, so my question is should I pursue this? I mean, if it means an extra 2 grand in my pocket, why not?

Any suggestions as to what I should say and not say?

why are these doctors calling you? that is odd.

i was in a minor accident in TN, other guys fault, not fast moving, police filled out report, both insured, no ambulance dispatched (no one hurt) and i havent gotten any calls from doctors. that is weird.

I would stay away from doctors that call you unsolicited. If you are concerned about injuries, go see your regular doctor and see if he recommends further treatment (PT, chiro, meds), or testing (x-rays). If all you have is some soreness, then you're not getting a free $2k.

I would bet that they are all chiropractors, not medical doctors. They have runners who go and review all of the police reports every day or week or whatever and they use that info to solicit patients from the not-at-fault drivers and passengers listed in the reports.

Likewise, DWI attorneys have runners who do the same thing with arrest records for DWIs. They are public records, so as long as the atorney reveals how s/he got the name, it falls within the allowable barratry rules.

i just find it odd that i live in the same city as the OP and had a similar accident within the past 2 months and no one has called me, i feel left out and unloved

you made me laugh. i dunno, i'm going to the doc right now, i figure free checkup why not.

nothing is wrong with me i'm sure, he wasn't going fast at all.
