What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? PA
Hi there, I just have a question about supervised visitation in PA. I tried calling our court nursery etc. and no one was able to give me any info.
My son's father has supervised visitation with him at our family court nursery every other weekend due to abuse (criminal charges pending, and custody hearing pending). So far there has been 6 scheduled sup. visits, 2 of which he missed. I haven't missed any. If he continues to miss these visits, is there any way I can have them terminated? Or at least request to have them reduced to once a month?
Not trying to be a jerk, but it's hard to explain to my 8 yr old (who's already going thru it having been physically and emotionally abused by his father for 2 days straight during weekend visit) why his father doesn't show up to the visits... he takes it as, "I guess he just doesn't want to see me" (which very well may be the case) and spends the rest of the week being depressed because of it. Not to mention it's a pain in the butt to drive 30 mins to the nursery, wait in a 45 min line with druggies, child abusers etc. (fights are constantly breaking out in line) for him to not even show up!
Should I just wait for my upcoming custody case and report how many visits he missed then? Do I need to call my custody lawyer when he misses them (don't want to constantly bother him for little things)? Any advice on how many visits have to be missed before I can do something/does he have to miss visits consecutively or what? Any info would be greatly appreciated, as I asked the court nursery staff, and they are all clueless.
Thanks!
