new york city...daughter is in nyc in college..got hired as bartender, then fired, because investor of bar, urged her, in order to keep her job, to admit what manager of bar was doing. She complied, to keep her job..only to be fired by manager the next day, for not being someone he could trust! Truth was, he was drunk while working. He admitted to her, that he was not proud of his actions, however, he didn't have room for someone that would "rat him out"! I, now find out, that, she was not being paid an hourly wage, never filled out an application, never filled out a W-2 form, etc..she was basically, just working for tips. I know this is illegal in PA, just want to know NY laws. Please advise!
