What is the name of your state? Louisiana

I know this has been addressed but cant open the thread for some reason.

we have a tenent who is saying they have not been credited for all thier payments (made using money orders). i have copies of thier money orders. some are obvious-but there are some i know were not payments to up-they are for amounts like 38.79 (thier rent is 1200).

these are just stubs-not the carbon copies that used to be used (why did they do away with the carbon copies anyway).

am i correct in my thinking that this is just proof they paid something w/a money order-not necessarly us?

Can the tenent get actual copies of the money orders using tracking #'s?

Yes it is. Money order receipts should never be accepted as proof of payment.

They sure can and and that is all you should accept for proof of payment.

oh dear god-there are very unintelligent folks here in new orleans

just actually crunched the #'s comparing ours to hers-the receipts she gave me (even taking into conderation the amounts i know wernt paid to us) is LESS than what my records show she paid-

how in the H#^L do property managers deal with people like this? on a regular basis??

no wonder the property manager i do work for is nuts!

Never accept less than the amount that is due. You are not set up to take weekly payments.

She is simply missing a receipt.
