My mortgage company did not pay my real estate taxes although they were due in November. The only reason I found this out is because they sold my loan to another servicing company and the new servicing company sent me a statement with all my balance information. I thought the escrow balance was awfully high - sure enough, my taxes haven't been paid! Now they are going to be delinquent if not paid by the end of March, they are $120 more than if they had been paid on time AND I cannot take this deduction on my taxes for 2004 - costing me another $413. Do I have ANY recourse against the prior mortgage company for not paying my taxes on time?

Thank you
Dawn
