I bought a home that was in foreclosure 6 weeks ago. I was told there was a 30 day warranty on the home even after initail repairs were done. The problem is this...the repairmen messed up more than they fixed!!! Now the mortgage company will not return our calls and when I finally got them on the phone they said they would not honor the 30 day warranty and then HUNG UP ON ME!!!!! I sent a registered letter and have not gotten a response. What do I do now? The repairmen were contracted by the mortgage company. They were supposed to fix holes in the sheetrock, well they put sheetrock mud over the holes and tried to smooth it out now there are cracks and waves where they did the repairs. They put new linoleum in the kitchen but didn't smooth out the the floor so there are bumps, knots and waves ALL over the floor. Some of the screws they put in to hang doors came out throught the wall. They were supposed to replace the interior doors but the ones they brought were too big so they took the old doors outside, put sheetrock mud over the holes, smoothed it out and paintd them (against the side of the house so now there are painted rectangles on the side of the house) and the sheetrock mud is falling throught the holes in the doors. There is a hole in the guest bath tub and a crack in the tub in the master bath and they were supposed to be replaced now they are refusing to replace them. Thr trim in the home is a cheap type that is basically cardboard covered with an adhesive overlay. When they taped the trim to paint, the tape they used was a high adhesive so that when they pulled off the tape half the overlay came off and now half the trim looks like cardboard. When I talked to the lady at the mortgage company she said that was my problem. I pointed out that her crew caused the damage. She told me to get a majic marker and even out the color!!!! HELP!!!

What does the warranty guarantee exactly and what repairman are you talking about? Also, be more specific about what problems exist with the home.

I am of the opinion that the warranty was just a homemmade in-house type and not a real one like the type the licensed contractors issue.
