about a year ago, I refinanced my home. recently, my mortgage was sold to another company. This company sends threatening letters each and every month, stating that I'm in danger of losing my home. My due date is the 2nd of each month. Late charges are added on the 17th. I can't get the payment in before the 17th, but I do send the payment in EACH month, including the late fees, and am not behind in my payments. I have requested that my due date be changed, but they refuse to even consider it. Not only do they send the letters each month, but today, they sent someone to my home. Is there nothing I can do to stop this harassment? As I said, I make my payments each month. I haven't missed a one.fyi: I live in North Carolina, but the mortgage company is in Utah.

My response:

Well, you and I both agree they really are ass-holes. No doubt about that fact.

The only thing I can recommend is that you save enough money to get on track, and be able to send you payments in on time.

Otherwise, they will "hound" you. And not stop.
