Mortgagee Fees

My mortgage is a transferrable mortage and has been 4 times. The last person who took over this mortgage was in July 03. In March 04 i noticed on the monthly statement $1060.57 Fees Due. I have requested 4 times an explanation of this with no reply. Today my husband spoke with this company and they told him it was closing fees when they bought the loan. Now we have no control over this tranferring can we be held liable for the fees incurred when the loan is transferred? The other mortgagees did not charge any fees to us, I don't think.

Oh I understand now, but the correct term is "assigned" not "transferred", therefore I thought the OP was talking about the loan being assumed. Home Guru is correct....once again
