What is the name of your state? New York

I live in NY but the accident happened it PA. A car cut in front of me and caused me to slam into the side of him ( i was on my motorcycle ). My girlfriend and myself have an arm injury and a hip injury but no broken bones. The cops wrote him a ticket and filled out a report, claiming he is at fault. I have medical insurance but it might not cover the total cost of the ambulance ride and hospital bills. Will the other insurance company pay for the fair market value of my bike and my medical bills? If not i am prepared to get a lawyer and sue for my loss of property, income loss, medical bills, and pain and suffering.

I am figuring that the insurance company is going to try to settle this with a low amount of money, But i want my fair amount of money because it was there fault. If i settle with the amount of money their insurance company is going to give me for my bike, can i still sue for medical bills, income loss, and pain and suffering through my insurance company or a private lawyer?

I haven't gotten a response from their insuracne company yet, i am just trying to prepair myself for what is to come.

Thanks.

There's about 17 million things that can happen and nobody here can help you with all of the possibilites. If you're really worried about getting taken to the cleaners, then file a claim with your own insurance company and let them take care of it.
