Hi,

I plan to open a website in a few months dedicated to motorsport and cars.

Will I be infringing any copyright laws by reporting news in sports such as Formula 1 and Moto GP, using those phrases, publishing comment articles on those topics, and publishing photographs of cars (with the photographers permission of course).

Thanks for any help.

You need the photographer's permission, but you may find it hard to get that. These photographers probably have signed agreements with the sanctioning bodies to get permission to shoot there. Everybody will likely want to be compensated for your use.

We only do US law by the way, I suspect you have foreign issues as Formula 1 has NO US races and Moto GP only has two.
