What is the name of your state? Texas
I just read a post that brought up a good question for me. Right now I travel 37 miles to pick up my son from school and I take him back to school in the morning. Standard Texas Order. My ex is a teacher and wants to move from her school to another school and take my son with her. The school she intends to move to will add about 15-20 miles to the current ride. What are ya'lls opinion on filing for a mod (I need to anyway, CS) and inserting that she meet me at least back to the original point where I used to pick up my son at his old school?

Is that logistically possible?...with her being a teacher and having to be at school? If it is, then you probably have a decent shot at it.

Yeah, what happend is that she bought a house way on the other side of town. She continued to work at the same school, about 15 miles from her house. Now she wants to move to a school near her home but that is going to take a chunk out of our time. Further more is through the worst end of town (traffic wise).

Here is the deal, in Texas if the parents kive in the same county the NCP does the driving back and forth. If the CP moves outside of the county where the order is originated than the NCP picks up and at the end of the NCP's the CP picks up. It is standard this way so if your ex is moving out of the county of the original order than she will have to get up real early on Mondays to drive all the way to pick hup, or visitation can end Sunday if easier and agreed upon by both parents, or botyh parents drive half way on start of NCP visitation and half way at the end of the NCP's visitation. Take your pick!

I'd say that chances are slim, Tex. If she's in the same county (even the same city?) I don't figure a change in the transportation provisions...the distance is negligible.

Unfortunately, I don't believe a change of 15 miles will be significant enough to modify the order...especially since she is a teacher and is obligated to be at her school at a certain time each morning. Sorry.:( If it makes you feel any better, my X drives 63 mi. one way on the days he chooses to p/u after school &/or take our daughter to school the next day. (Of course in my situation- those are extra/requested visits, which are above/beyond the court order...and I cannot meet 1/2 way as I have an older child to get to/from school myself at the same times)

And even though I have a CA order, iI had a TX SOP at one time & am familiar with them.

Heard baby Lopez is furniture walking~ awwwwe! Enjoy!
