What is the name of your state?NY
I have a programming idea that a friend of mine, who is a former MTV management, said MTV would probably be quick to pick up. The show idea is pretty much good for any network/cable channel that is marketing towards 17-30 year olds, however MTV ties in better with my company and what I am trying to do.
Anyway, problem is, he left MTV on bad terms and burnt a lot of bridges, so he can't really put me in touch with anyone there directly. But his friend is an attorney over there, who as he says carries a heavy bat there, and will be able to take care of my needs and get this on the right peoples desks with no problem.
My question is, seeing how this guy actually works with/for MTV, do I use him as a personal attorney for this?---is that wise? What if anything should I do before presenting the idea to to him?---like getting another independent attorney or something? Does this attorney have any obligation to ME if I'm not paying him upfront, in that what I tell him, being that he is an attorney, he can't just go ahead and push it to MTV as his idea or pass it on to one of his people there to present?
Thanks.....anything I didn't cover or ask, please just tell me.
