My former husband has just recently bought out my interest in the marital home. I will be the tenant paying monthly rent, living in the marital home until my townhome is completed. He is currently living elsewhere. He is now wanting keys to the marital home. He already has a garage door opener for our unattached garage which he has had for years and comes out periodically. I have noticed that my lawn edger is now missing from the garage and he and I are the only ones who enter the garage at all. I would not be able to prove that he took it, but it makes me extremely hesitant to give him a key to the house because I don't want him to be able to come in anytime. Do I have to give him a key to the house now that he is sole owner? Thanks for any advice.

It's his house. While you don't HAVE to give him a key, he has every right to have the locks changes and give you a spare.

Quit playing games and give him the damn key.
