What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Texas

I have read multiple things over this topic, and each always has a different requirement and different details that can change the outcome. I am a single mother...I hold all rights. When I was young, a man did something horrible, he has and will never be in the picture, he is not on the birth certificate, and he has never even been to court regarding MY child. Multiple court dates were arranged, my lawyer thought that to be a good idea on our part. In which the man did not show or the law could not find him. My lawyer said that was good for us. I have been told because of these things that my boyfriend, who has been there before she was born, when she was born, and ever since, can adopt her easily. She knows no other father. I would like to do a little more research over this matter before going to my lawyer about it. How does my boyfriend adopt my daughter without us being married? Being that we are not married and not in any hurry for getting married, is it still possible for him to adopt her? We live together and have been together for 8+ years.

He won't commit to you but will commit to the child? You are going to have an uphill battle.

Deleting your thread isn't going to change the answer. The FACT is that the FATHER of the child has to be notified for an adoption.

As you were told on your other (now deleted) thread - you NEED an attorney.

This one's a thread deleter. I pointed out that she'd need to be married and that she'd need to properly notify the father and the she needs an attorney. She deleted the thread.

You can't contact a man who raped a women which lead to her having a child and who has no legal rights to the child.

There is no man to notify. Because he raped me as a kid. He has no rights. I have a lawyer, which was said, and will be married to the man who has been raising my child, as said. But we were weighing our options.

Then have your attorney help with the stepparent adoption. Your attorney can explain the possible avenues for notification because I don't think it's appropriate to dig in to your past. But I can say this - if the man never showed up in court and the court never heard any matters relating to this, then the man does have rights, no matter how much you want to say otherwise.

I have all documentation needed that indicates he does not have any rights. There was long processes for this. And cannot be explained unless going into detail of what fully occurred.

In that case, your matter is too complex for an internet forum. Best of luck to you.

Explain this comment, because I am very positive that I went court, did what I had to do, and got the documentation for it. And survived a horrible incident.

Here's the thing- you later went to court for other matters in which you were unsuccessful in serving him, so nothing occurred. If his parental rights had been terminated, then why go to court?
