What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California. If his truck wasn't on designated route he would terminate me. Last week I got off on a frontage road and he tried to tell me someone called in and then later admitted he had a GPS device in the vehicle. Is that legal without letting me know.

The point is, he doesn't need a reason to terminate your employment unless there is an enforceable contract or CBA in place.
