Someone has taken my last name, Krizsa, as her domain name. She uses Krizsa.com. I emailed her to ask her where she came up with that name for her web site. She told me that she made it up. Well, I can't really believe that. My question is, can I do anything to make her stop using it? She says she's an artist. Well, I'm an artist and I don't want her using my last name as her website name. What can I do?

Not MUCH..... you were too damn CHEAP to pay the $35 a year to already have it registered..

Some artist you are....shame on you.....

Unless she knows of you, and is cybersquatting your name so she can make a profit...

Well you have to register something else like Krizsart.com

I agree. Unless you can establish that she intentionally used your name for her website, I don't think there's much you can do about it. Furthermore, your last name is just that: a name. It would be akin to someone registering "bob.com" when his name wasn't Bob and people named Bob telling him to discontinue using the domain name. People register first and last names on the Internet quite frequently and there's usually nothing you can do to stop it. Sorry. You'll have to find another domain name to register.

One more thing......

If YOU sign ALL of your artwork "Krizsa"

And you have had MAJOR shows, Awards, published in Magazines, and are a Up and coming artist, and this person lives in the same area as you, or knows about you as an ARTIST.

Then it would make sense to sue for your "name" back.
