I am new to this forum - Will be using more in the future.. I am from SC, I have been seperated for 5 months now and have one 3 year old daughter from this marriage. My wife left and comitted Adultery 2 weeks later which was confirmed and documented by a licesed PI. We have shared custody of our daughter for the first 3 months ( half/half) until our first court date in early FEB. My lawyer works in the same building as her lawyer , as well as right down the hall from one another....they use to be in pratice some 5 years ago. both have been in pratice for ~12 years.
On our first court appearance -- the judge ordered Status Quo, until a guardian could investigate further. A guardian was not appointed at the time of the first court appearance. The lawyers could not decided therefore additional expense has accured.--my wife and I are both professionals--chemist and nurse. And since then my wife has been fired from the Hospital due to the Adultery was with a married Co-worker ( male nurse).
----I dont feel that my lawyer has my best interest in hand and that things are not being handled expedietly.--
Question : Would it be a bad thing to confront my Attorney and ask why ( dont want to rub him the wrong way ) or should I go out and Hire another Attorney ? Would this slow the process any? Would I have to start over ( filing etc.)? Does the court view this as bad ( considering the short term in the big picture)? Would it be advantageous to me to hire another Attorney ?
I feel like privelaged information has been leaked to her Attorney and then back to my wife... Any advice on these initail questions would be a big help and a great start.
I would like advice now before I incure additional Attorney fees.
Thanks greatly for any input.
