My mother got married in the U.S.A, does that give her a valid VISA?

I have to comment here....

Just because your parents chose the US for their wedding locale does not give them any status in the US. And for the sake of some of the people who responded here just because people chose the US for their wedding locale doesn't make their marriage invalid or mean that they attempted any immigration fraud. All they did was have a "destination wedding" just as many US citizens choose to have a "destination wedding" outside of the US.

Nor would such a wedding have any effect on any of the participants or the extended family in getting a tourist visa to visit the US. Sheesh people...lighten up. Ok, the OP doesn't have a clue about how immigration laws work, but that doesn't automatically mean that the OP has any fraudulent intent.

You obviously didn't read his thread on the "other" forum, either.

So please don't tell me to lighten up. You also missed the potty mouth HERE. And you missed DETAILS.

You can probably get a visa to visit. But please don't, we have enough racists in this country already - we don't need to import them, too.

I need to make an interjection here also. I am not racist against Mexicans. I have traveled extensively in Mexico. I have found the poor there to be very polite, generous and respectable. In spite of their poverty, they are also some of the cleanest and hardest working people I have ever met. My objection to illegals, is the same objection I have to criminals who do things that cost me money out of my pocket and jeopardize the future employability of my children. For some reason, I categorize most politicians in the same category.

WE know that.

But it takes a racist and/or a bigot to deduce from your signature line what the OP apparently deduced.

I would agree too, except that she lumped all the responders in the same boat when only one responder implied any type of fraud. That always bothers me about her.

True. She lumped it all with fraud. I should have been more specific that I was agreeing that you can do destination weddings in the US if from another country. I really should have been more specific or just not PWI (Posting while influenza'd.)

To clarify -- I am NOT liking the racism or bigotry. Not. At. All. I am agreeing however with your post. Good grief. I need to sleep this week to recover from last week's rest.
