Whittier, California -
I left my belongings with my brother (i.e. musical instruments, clothes, CD's etc...) before I moved to another state with the agreement that I would make arrangements to have them shipped. Recently, come to find out that he had a yard sale and sold my belongings without my permission. Can I take him to small claims - if so what kind of case would I have and evidence the judge would need from me?
What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

You can sue him for the fair market value of items. Hope you have a fairly detailed list of the items. Trying to prove what you had without one can be a big problem.
