ok heres my situation.
when i was pregnant the father was no where to be found. did not want nothing to do with me we didnt contact each other nothing. so i had my daughter and i gave her MY last name versus his. since then we've reconsiled and we live together now but his mom has been on his butt to change my daughters last name...is there anything she can do LEGALLY to force me to change it...

As SilverPlum says, absolutely not!

Dad however can file to have the child's name changed. If he does, hyphenation is likely.
