I have entered into an contract with a tee shirt company and I can see no other way than to have an attorney help me with this deal. It was my second licensing deal and it could have went better.
The situation is this. They are not releasing the promised royality advance of $1500 as spelled out in thier contract and emails. The VP of licensing is not agreeable at all to answering questions and was sure to inform me that "deals like this either work or they don't" and he now is not return my calls or emails.
There are also aspects of the agreement that do not seem fair. They are paying 7% royalities on wholesale sales only, no royality for retail at all. I should have read the terms more clearly and I need this renegotiated. Plenty of money was just lost and I would have gladly paid that money to the attorney who would have seen it coming.
As I have not recieved the advance check can I assume that this deal is still not legally binding?
Thank you if you think you can help.
