I was on an unfamiliar four lane road in NJ and just passed a car, a few seconds later a truck rapidly approached my vehicle and was tailgating. The vehicle then started to flash their high beams repeatedly and was acting erratic. I was a little nervous about the situation and decided the safest thing to do was stay in my lane until I felt it was safe to move over. Suddenly police lights started to flash behind me. The truck that was flashing it's high beams at me was a police officer.
He pulled me over and gave me a ticket for failure to keep right. He told me he was in pursuit of another vehicle and I was in his way, and since I didn't move out of his way he gave me the ticket. My point to him was that I thought the safest thing to do was just maintain my speed and stay in the left lane because the vehicle tailgating me (plice officer) was acting erratic.
Can I fight this 2 point ticket and win.
