I'm now 19 years old, but when I was 16 years old, I burglarized a house. During that time, somebody was home, and my other accomplice tied that person up. And that accomplice had a gun, but none of the others did. I did not get charged with the crime until recently, but I need advice concerning what I'm facing. I was wondering if I would get charged as an adult, or juvenile. Another thing I have heard about from a friend of mine is concerning the statute of limitations. Does it apply here? If anybody could help me out I would really appreaciate it. Thank you

What could have possibly been going through your mind? I have a feeling the court will probably be very hard on you.

Why didn't you get charged when you were 16? Was it not known that you were part of this three years ago?

"I burglarized a house."

No, you committed armed home invasion robbery and kidnapping. Don't bother blaming it on the other guy - the robbery was a team effort and you did nothing to stop the other crimes.

This is a significant crime and prosecutors may want to try you as an adult. If the other offenser is not already convicted, you would be wise to have your lawyer talk to the prosecutor about having you charged as a juvenile in exchange for your testimony.
