What is the name of your state?Florida.
How does an owner that just went through foreclosure receive the earnings from the sale of the home? My wife lost her house and it sold for more than it was purchased for. How can she get the earnings? Should she hire an attorney to do the legal proceedings or can this be handled through lay channels? Are there hidden costs that she won't know about?

I don't believe these are "earnings"; they may be surplus. That means, after all the costs of the sale, there was money left over.

Ask the folks who foreclosed on the property your question. You have a right to know the answer.
