I have a question, and hope someone can help me. Our brother passed away last week, and my other brother drove out from Colorado to settle everything and make the funeral arrangements. When we called the funeral home, we found out that he had already been cremated, our cousin already gave permission to do this. My brother and I are his only surviving relatives, and we didn't even get to pay our last respects. My question is, was she legally able to do this? The funeral home told us that there is a 1,500 bill to be paid. Are we responsible for this? There was no will, and no insurance. Thanks for any help in this matter.
