My response:

Yes, that phrase in Latin is:

Yu go-us to jailo, you bummo. Payus de supporto or elso ! Grammatici certant, et adhuc sub iudice lis est.

Non copus mentus, et tu Brute ?

ok. love the joking. however, I go to court next week and I obviously was mistaken on the latin. my husband owes me 500.00 so far and it is court ordered alimony and I really want to know as much as I can about this stuff cause I have a long road ahead of me.

Only $500.00 ?

Go to the back of the bus. There are going to be many people in front of you in court on that date that are owed thousands and thousands of dollars.

I'd like to see the judge's face when he reads your papers. With a look of puzzlement, and consternation, he'll probably ask you the same question I have, above, before he has you escorted out.

True, a lot of people out there are owed money. but I know where he works to get his wages garnished, and the fact that the juge threatened to hold him in contempt for his outburst when the alimony was ordered. I came here for help, not for stupid jokes, or I should go to the back of the bus. Thanks for the help, next time, don't answer. There are a lot of people out there that can't afford a lawyer, cause they are taking care of kids on their own or whatever the circumstance is, they come to this forum for help, advice. By the way, I think i have waited the required amount of days to give him until I could file for a show of cause for not paying. It isn't like I only waited the first month.

My response:

Trisha, I'm sorry you feel offended. But, you didn't come here for legal advice. You came here for a "Latin phrase". That's not advice.

And besides, no one uses Latin in or out of the courtroom any longer. Oh, sure, there are some last vestiges of Latin, like "Nolo Contendere", or "Guardian ad Litem", and a few others.

But, believe me, no one goes around wearing white wigs or speaking Latin any longer. And, besides, even if there were such a phrase, the judge - - especially in Virginia - - would probably look at you funny anyway.

Hell, they can barely speak or understand English, let alone Latin.

I guess I am sensitive. I have a long road ahead of me. I get jokes and lgl bgl saying I should go to the back of the bus. IAAl
you suggested that I go and file for show of cause right after I returned from the courthouse in May for not paying me alimony.
I know what a courtroom looks like by now unfortunately, I was just curious about a term that someone told me about. Am I supposed to wait until he owes me $1,000.00 and have the judge ask why I didn't file sooner.

I did?? Prove it!

My response:

LB, you've got to come to the meetings more often.

At our last roundtable, corporate, FreeAdvice.Com meeting, you were voted "Fall Guy and ScapeGoat" for both myself and for HomeGuru.

So, even though I made the "bus" comment, it's you that rightly gets the blame.

You know, I would attend more if you lot would actually buy some cookies and proper coffee instead of that strong Mexican stuff.. and where were the lap dancers as promised by Mary???

Anyway, after today, I am more than happy to take all the flak.. bring it on people!!

Legal Beagle did not make the statement about the bus...IAAL did, I think the guys were trying to lighten the mood...

Speaking of LB...got blasted myself quite a bit today...all because I felt the need to blast back at your blasters..I don't take any of them to heart though because when you subtract the sters fron blasters...all you have is bla,bla,bla...nonsense. Can't wait to see the new friends I make tomorrow.
