What is the name of your state? Illinois

I am going to go in ProSe on my ex's Petition to Modify Child Support (lower it) - and I want to file a Petition for Rule to Show Cause on all the issues he has failed to perform on such as being behind in support and medical payments and such. Can I file that as a counter claim in my answer? Or do I have to file a whole new Petition? And if I do, since I was the Plaintiff in the original divorce, does that make me a Plaintiff/Counter-Plaintiff (huh?) or am I considered a Defendent in the post-decree action? I have a paralegal background that I haven't used in a few years and some of the finer procedural points are a little foggy. Advice would be most helpful!
Thanks!
