What is the name of your state? Massachusetts

My dad (82) has been diagnosed with the beginning of Alzheimer's. My mom (85) is not in the best of health & seems to be having some short term memory problems. She has POA over my dad & their house is her name with me as beneficiary. I can assume POA over my mom because of her not being able to handle all that is going on. I am an only child.

I have been given all kinds of advice & everyone says something different. Would their assets be considered accountable if they were placed in an irrevocable trust or if we were to put them in my mother's & my name???

Any input would be greatly appeciated.

Thanks,
nuzzmark

These are questions that would be best answered by a certified estate planning professional or trust attorney. You can also check out a few books at the library about trusts to get more informed about what they can and can't accomplish.
