I had a 16 year old boy named Mitchell steal some jewelery from my home, I made a report with the police department. While I was making my report the officer doing my report asked a few question about who had lived in the home with Mitchell, asked about the drug activity in the home, and the youngchildren. I told the officer what I knew which was alot. Swat entered that residence that same night, arrested 3 people. Mitchells' older brother Donnie avoided the police that night. The next day Donnie got my number from his aunt and called me threatening to kill me, my 3 year old daughter, to burn my home down, and to destroy my car. He made this threats because I talked to the police. I called the police and they came and made a report, That same night I went to the City Prosecutor's office and made a complaint, they filed charges of telephone harassment on him and issued a warrant for his arrest. He has 6 other warrant's on him, if I know is where about's I call the police department but they never catch him. Now he is coming around my home and even has come to my door, I called the police once again when he came to my home but I never saw them and Donnie is still harassing me. I was told by the City Prosecutors' office that I can not get a Protection order against him. His charge is not serious enough for a protection order so they say, but it was good enough for a warrant I don't understand the law and beginning to not trust it either. 6 of his 7 warrants are for Domestic Violence, he shows he his violent. What can I do? I am not going to wait for him to hurt my daughter or me. I hope you can tell me a little something that may help. I appericate your time! Thank You,

Check out FreeAdvice.com under spousal abuse -- and you can try to get a protective order anyway. A judge may feel differently than the police. But recognize that a protective order may do much good if the police don't make a concerted effort to go after someone with 6 warrants. Get a local politican to help you get the police focused on this bad actor!
