What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? I'm in Pennsylvania

I was set to become a foster mom and was so excited. Then all of the sudden they dropped me. So I made an appeal and the court date is set. I was sent a review taken by a neighbor that was very bad and made me sound bad. I know the house they went to, and know who gave this review...... but do I have a legal right to ask for a name?? I may never get to be a foster mom now.... but I want the record set right!!! I confronted the guy and he said he never talked to anybody and asked if his name was on paper. He's been a foster parent and knows I didn't have his name.

Sandi:mad: in PA

Well, then I can prove to his wife he did it. And she'd make sure it made things right. VERY nice lady.

So you're hoping that you can somehow convince wife to coerce her husband into changing his story?

I really don't think you want to go there.

Yes I do. I really don't care if either one speaks to me again.

Nor do I, but that's not the point.

If you start manipulating witnesses and the agency finds out, you may NEVER be able to clear your name.

As it is, you have a chance to get a review and ask for them to evaluate further. If you're pretty sure who it is, you could even say "I've had problems with John Doe in the past, so I hope you'll take that into consideration and evaluate all the other positive reviews I've gotten."

I'm already screwed with the foster care agency. I can't even change agencys because I'd have to refer them to the first agency. I'm not really looking to have him change so I can regain my standing. I want him to take responsibily for his actions. I live in this neighborhood, and want a retraction for that reason. It was a hateful thing he's done.... and can't be undone. But I look for resolution for my own sanity and feelings of self worth. He swears he never spoke to them, and I want proof that he did. I want an apology!

And I want an island of my own in the South Pacific. Ain't happening for me, either.

You're treading on VERY dodgy ground here, "goodgal". First, the agency has no obligation to reveal any details at all to you.

Second though - and more importantly - be VERY careful that you don't end up in legal trouble yourself if you pursue this man and/or his wife.

The last thing you want on your plate is a harassment charge/restraining order, right?

Slander is a lie

Did the neighbor say you are petty, paranoid and suffering from borderline personality disorder? ;)

Well, now you have neighbor-anger/revenge mixed all up in your original idea of helping children.

That's a shame.

I may be mixing motives right now.. and it a little sad.

No he did lie. Didn't say he felt it, said it was true. I know the difference between slander and having my feelings hurt.
