Just starting, and been reading other messages. How long is the trustee over your accounts? I was waiting until after I got my tax return to pay property taxes and my lawyor, will they ask for that tax return? We they ask for the tax return for next year? I need to get more info. Is there a website I could go to?

THIS website has good info. You can also read up at www.thebankruptcysite.com.

If you get your tax refund and spend it on NECESSITIES before you file for BK, then there's nothing the Trustee can get. Paying property taxes may or may not be allowed, so you need to check with a bankruptcy lawyer.

A Trustee can go after any monies you get in the 6 months after your discharge, but after that its all yours. If your case is discharged by summer, your next years tax refund will be yours.
