What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New Jersey
Hello, hopefully someone can give me some genuine advice on my problem. I'm a New York licensed driver who works in New Jersey and helps his family out in Pennsylvania. I was pulled over earlier tonight for speeding at a clocked speed of 79mph in a 55mph area by what the State Trooper in New Jersey for what was described as him aiming the laser gun at the left lane on a right turning bend of highway. Only problem is I was going 50mph in the left lane of a two lane highway while the car in the right lane was speeding passed me then decreased speed around the bend when the trooper was seen while I just continued at my speed. I pleaded with the trooper that he pulled over the wrong car and that the speeding car was the car in the right lane whipping around me. I was only ever in the left lane to begin with because a car before the bend (not visible to the trooper) was pulled over on the right side of the highway with their hazards on and saw the speeding car accelerating to pass me in the right lane forcing me to stay in the left lane. The ticket also states it was clear skies and no fog yet there was fog and was a cloudy night. In fact there was massive advisory warnings given throughout that area for said fog forming around the area earlier that day as well as a confirmation advisory update of the fog finding form a minute after the ticket was issued. Is there anything I can do in this case? I've been driving for 11 years now and have never received any tickets or even been pulled over in New York or Pennsylvania but have been wrongfully pulled over twice in 3 years on this strip of highway with the first ticket I received being pretty much tossed and this new ticket I've received tonight. I cannot afford to pay a ticket of this magnitude since I help my retired disabled parents in Pennsylvania and have an autoimmune disease that has costed me time and money regularly that I can barely afford as is. I know those don't play into account for the ticket itself but is my situation nonetheless. Please any advice anyone can give me would be great. I'm sorry for any inconvenience and/or trouble I may have caused any of you. Thank you.
