my friend and i are discussing marriage. my income and net worth is nearly 3 times his. he already has a set alimony agreement, but i am concerned that, when we marry, the ex-wife could contest the alimony agreement and ask that the alimony be increased. child support is not an issue. we live in massachusetts.

does anyone know about or have experience with similar cases in this state? are there ways around this situation i.e., separate tax filings, separate bank accounts, separate residences (god forbid)?

thanks for your help! :)

Your income is just that....your's. It can not be used to support her. She can not take him to court and ask for part of your income. YOU owe HER nothing.
