I work in a county court in Florida as a file clerk. A lot of people come and go, tho I've been here a while.
They take an average of 3 months to replace an employee. We're short one presently. My boss is pestering me to work much faster than I can at one task, and has written me up once. In time this might be used to downgrade or fire me.
Outside of quitting or retaining a lawyer (which I probably couldn't afford) is there anything I could do? All management covers each other, employees are never right.

Is there any government employees union there? If so they can advise you.
This is not really a legal issue, but a work related issue about managing your boss and relationships. Lots of books are out there on this topic, and reading one may pay.
