I'm currently in the US & have received an approval / I-797B for a H1B amendment filed earlier when i was in India. The amendment was filed in June 2017 (requested action was consular notification) and i traveled to the US right after. My previous H1B extension and visa stamping both are valid till March 31, 2018. My current I-94 is valid till April 10, 2018.

Question
1. Can i continue working in the US now (since I already have a valid visa), Or do I have to depart, get a new visa stamping for the amendment & come back?

2. Is it possible to apply for another amendment (Or 'Change of Status' or 'amendment + extension' as applicable) without me having to depart the US? As stated, my H1B is expiring March 2018 so an extension will also be needed soon.

3. Even If i don't need to depart the US now, do I need a new visa stamping later before the I-94 expires to go ahead with the extension. In other words, can we apply for the extension ONLY AFTER i get the new visa? Or can we go ahead with it regardless, ie. even if I don't get a new visa using the recently approved amendment?

Thanks, your advice is much appreciated!
