For goodness sake! Don't kill the skunks for just doing what they do. Hire pest control to come in and safely move the stinky family to another place. Geesh!

Skunks are quite easy to get rid of. Use a Havaheart trap in your yard baited with peanut butter. When you trap a skunk, approach the trap from the end where it can’t see you and drape a blanket over the trap. You can then pick up the trap, put it your car or truck and take it miles away. The skunk WILL NOT SPRAY while it is covered and can’t see. Simply take the trap and turn it upside down to release the skunk and MOVE AWAY. The skunk will be glad to get out and will leave peaceably. I’ve gotten rid of six skunks this way and have never been sprayed or had the inside of my station wagon stunk up. This method was recommended to me by the local Humane Society.

If you don't like skunks, just wait for the armadillos to invade. They take over the skunk's place in the biosphere and dig huge holes in your yard.
