What is the name of your state? California
My daughter (sixth grade) has been called "Niggy" and "Afro-head" and is generally harrassed at her school. She is half black and half white and attending a predominantly latino school. We met with the principal and district representative to try and resolve the issue last year. The principal made the problem seem to be my daughter. Their solution was to transfer my daughter. My daughter is bilingual and this is the only school in our area that teaches in Spanish. We decided not to transfer her and hoped that a new year and new teacher would resolve the issue. It hasn't. The name calling is back and exclusion as well. When I asked the superintendent what the district policy on racial harrassment was, she referred me to the associate superintendent who did not give me a specific policy and said to talk with the principal. At this point we don't know what to do. Any ideas?
