Do Grandparents have any rights at all in NJ. My x's parents do nothing but lie and tell my kids stories of lies about their mother.(She's coming to get you she's sending you big screen TV's and it goes on and on). My oldest who is 15 now everytime they talk has a bad ass attitude for 2-3 days hearing all this garbage. (Going on 5 years now)I've asked them not to mention her but they insist well she their mother. I live out of state and have custody of children(all Legal). Mother is crackhead with 6-12 felony warrants in 3 counties. Hasn't contacted kids but twice thru grandparents in 2-3- years no christmas cards, birthday cards nothing.
I have had my numbers changed in the past but they always find it someway or enother.
I just want to cut them off cold turkey and if there's no rights start filing harassment charges against them here where I now live.
If they take me to court in NJ will a Judge say they have to have contact.
Thank you
Frank

Mom is supposed to have them for 5 weeks over the summer and easter vacation she is to provide transportation has never taken them yet. Three years ago, I took the to NJ and they stood with the Grandparents and they where to bring them home and never did I had to get them. Mom took them from Grandparents for one day and left the in A/C. 6 year old and at the time 12 year old they called me in a panic. 2 years ago I let them go and stay with the grandparents again didn't return kids and had my daughter call me from Virginia half way and said na and pa is going to leave them in a hotel if you don't get here by tomorrow. This was a 6:00pm. They used my son as a baysitter for enother grandchild and he stood the remaining 2 weeks at a friend of mine who has a child the same age because he refused to stay with them the Grandparents.
Grandparents have no visitations, I never once told my kids they couldn't contact anyone, but now they see the lies and I force my son to atleast say hello and then they ramble as stated above. Promise them everything and never come thru with anything.
Thanks

Do the GRANDPARENTS have CO'd visitation themselves? Does the visitation order have language that allows mom to designate a different adult to pick them up?

No I live in the Carolina's with the kids. No grandparents have no COed visitation's. I used to live in NJ and was divorced in NJ and that's where the case now sits. I have tried to get the case removed from NJ to my new state but have been denied. We have no idea where their mother is. They have only heard from their mother twice in 3 years now.

IF the GPs have no CO'd visitation, and they are not the designated drivers for mom's pickup, then you are not required to send them with the GPs.

Well, I would say your chances are better in NJ than NC actually. Caselaw in NC isn't great whereas NJ's most recent cases have favored the parents. The GPs would basically have to show a long term significant relationship with the kids and prove that significant harm would come to the kids if they don't visit the grandparents.
