What is the name of your state? OH

As mentioned in a previous post, my mother in law was contacted by a collection agency last Thursday regarding my husband's credit card account. Thanks to the great people in this forum who referred me to the rules of the FDCPA (fair credit reporting act, whatever it is called) I was told that the collection agency was required to contact us in writing within 5 days from the initial phone contact. Well, the initial contact was Thursday of last week (11/18) and today is the fifth business day since the contact (11/26) and we still have no letter or written correspondence from the CA. I am sure they will continue to harass us, but now they are in violation of the FDCPA right? How should we address further contact/ correspondence with them? Thanks.

Yes, they are in violation of the FDCPA. For now, just make a log of calls and events and keep any correspondence you DO get. At some point you will likely get a dunning letter. Let 'em rack up violations, they'll hang themselves.
