no proof of insurance

I was visiting family in Georgia when i was pulled over for speeding, however the officer also cited me fro no proof of insurance. i am from indiana and my state doesnt require me to have proof of insurance. my understanding is that Ga does not require out of state drivers to show proof of insurance. i am having trouble locating laws regarding this. any help??
