What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Nevada
My sister has just passed away and had no will. My nephew would naturally be the heir. What steps does he need to take to be able to change everything into his name and handle her affairs.

I understand that my nephew is the sole heir, and understand he has to open probate, my question was, what are the steps to do so, where does he go?

He will have to get an attorney, or educate himself on the process. There is no way to guide without access to all the facts.

google:

nevada probate

for more.
