My son received a Noise Violation citation because his radio was too loud. Officer said he could hear it 100' away from car. The "complaint" also said he was driving recklessly through parking lot, but he was not cited for that. It says that he has to show up in Circuit Court for Baltimore Co., Maryland. Does he need a lawyer for this? Why can't he just pay a fine? Will there be a "trial?"

I am a law school graduate. What I offer is mere information, not to be construed as forming an attorney client relationship.

Well, if he wrote reckless driving, that is probably why he has to show up to court.

I would show up and try to contest it.

Have you thought about talking with an attorney in Maryland about this? Perhaps it might help, becuase if he wins, he won't have points on his record.
